Oven-Baked Instructions:

Step 1: Prepare the Ribs

  2. Trim Excess Fat: Trim any excess fat from the ribs for a cleaner presentation.

Step 2: Season the Ribs

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 275°F (135°C).
  2. Make Dry Rub: In a small bowl, mix paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, brown sugar, cayenne pepper, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper to create a dry rub.
  3. Season Ribs: Rub the ribs all over with olive oil and then generously coat them with the dry rub, ensuring an even layer of seasoning.

Step 3: Wrap and Rest

  1. Wrap in Foil: Individually wrap each rack of ribs in aluminum foil, creating a sealed packet.
  2. Refrigerate: Allow the ribs to marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours or preferably overnight for enhanced flavor.

Step 4: Slow Bake

  1. Place in Oven: Arrange the foil-wrapped ribs on a baking sheet and place them in the preheated oven.
  2. Bake Slowly: Bake the ribs for approximately 3 to 3.5 hours or until they are tender. This slow cooking method helps to break down the collagen in the meat, resulting in juicy and tender ribs.

Step 5: Optional Grilling (For Char)

  1. Preheat Grill: If desired, preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  2. Finish on Grill: Unwrap the ribs and transfer them to the grill for a few minutes on each side to get a nice char. Baste with barbecue sauce if you prefer.

Step 6: Serve

  1. Rest and Slice: Let the ribs rest for a few minutes before slicing between the bones into individual servings.
  2. Serve Hot: Serve the oven-baked beef ribs hot, either on their own or with your favorite barbecue sauce on the side.
